Sofia Vergara, who is popular for her role in "Modern Family," has remained the highest-paid actress for the 5th year in a role.

The actress retained her spot by bringing in $43 million, an amount more than than any of her male counterparts made in the past year.
According to Forbes, Vergara's income experienced a 66% increase since 2015, and it is not for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the ABC series "Modern Family." Her income increase comes via endorsement and licensing deals.

"The Big Bang Theory's" Kaley Cuoco emerged the second-highest paid actress, with $24.5m. She had tied with Vergara in the 2015 Forbes list, when both actresses earned $28.5m.
Vergara stars on the ABC series "Modern Family" as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, for which she has been nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and seven Screen Actors Guild Awards.
In 2014, she was ranked as the 32nd most powerful woman in the world by Forbes.
