The award winning Ghanaian filmmaker is known for portraying women as strong characters in her movies.

Shirley Frimpong Manso is set currently working on the release of her new feature film title “”.

Manso, who is the CEO of Sparrow Productions, was recently featured in Variety Magazine. In the American entertainment publication, she was acknowledged as a leading influencer of the Ghanaian Box Office.

In her movies, she has attempted to remove the stereotype of the casting roles of women where they are seen as weak, and only play the roles of wives and homemakers. She told the magazine her goal was “to show a woman (who) can have a job, a husband, a child, (and) can make decisions". Manso ‘s actions and growth in the industry has inspired females in the Ghanaian movie industry.

In her interview, she also addressed the issues of the film industry in her country. She revealed that one of her plans was to penetrate into the Nigerian film industry.

Manso has also produced several series, and short films including "Love or Something Like That" starring OC Ukeje, "Grey Dawn" and "Devil in The Detail".
