Remembering late reality star's days on "Gulder Ultimate Search" [Photos]

In 2006, Hector Jobarteh's resilient spirit earned him the Gulder Ultimate Search grand prize. Watch his winning moment.

Aged 38, he was killed by unknown gunmen at his residence, Olufowora Close, New Oko Oba, Agege, Lagos State.

On Thursday, September 7, 2017, the deceased would have been a year older, his wife Oseyi revealed in a touching posthumous birthday letter.

Pulse Movies has put together photos from the season that introduced Hector Jobarteh to hardcore followers of the reality series.

In 2006, the late Jobarteh was introduced to Nigerians as one of the contestants on third season of Gulder Ultimate Search, which held in the land of Nifor in Edo State.

For 22 days, these contestants went in search of a hidden treasure, hoping to discover it and emerge the winner. Their daily struggles included war against nature, intellectual and gruelling tasks.

The six finalists were Hector, Temitope Adewunmi, Eddie Madaki, Adah Emma Okoh, Lynda Clems and Charles Fredrick.

After 22 days,  Jobarteh emerged the last man standing and winner of the grand prize of five million naira and a Ford Explorer SUV.

It has been a decade since that season, and while most fans cannot remember the events of the entire season, the resilient spirit that earned Jobarteh his fame and fortune can't be forgotten.
