4 new TV series you should be watching

A new season of your favourite TV show is probably many months away. Check out four series worth bingewatching while you wait.

The year has offered quite a number of dramatic events, and sometimes there is need for an escape.

When "Game of Thrones," "Power" and all other great shows are on a long hiatus, a new addictive show is needed.

Pulse Movies have put together four 2016 shows every TV lover should consider/binge-watch.

Here we go:

1. "Westworld"

The next "Game of Thrones?" - "Westworld" is everything but "GOT." The HBO sci-fi western series from Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy is a more intellectual piece that offers deeper mystery with each episode.

The series takes place in fictional Westworld, a technologically advanced, Western-themed amusement park populated completely by synthetic androids dubbed "hosts".

Westworld caters to high-paying visitors dubbed, who can do whatever they wish within the park, without fear of retaliation from the hosts.

2. "Luke Cage"

An action-packed drama, the series follows the evolution of Luke Cage, a man with super strength and unbreakable skin caused by a sabotaged experiment. After a failed relationship with fellow superhero Jessica Jones, Cage tries to rebuild a quiet life in Harlem, New York,  until he is pulled out of the shadows and forced into a battle for his city.

3. "The Night Of"

The suspense is the catch!

"The Night of" is an American crime drama series which premiered on June 24, 2016.  The series follows a man who wakes up to find the female stranger he partied with the night before, stabbed to death. He is charged with her murder.

In this story about a complex murder case, Nasir "Naz" Khan realizes that his fate depends not on his attorney, but on an inmate at Rikers Island.

4. "Stranger Things"

If you haven't watched "Stranger Things" on Netflix, then you totally should do so.

Something for every lover of horror and "X-Files," "Stranger Things" is  set in the 1980s, and pays homage to 1980s pop culture.

Inspired by the works of Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, Stephen King, Robert Zemeckis, and George Lucas, "Stranger Things is an easy watch with just eight episodes. It also offers humour, horror and terrific dose of mystery.
