These talent were spot on with their on-screen performances this year.

There were several actors who gave memorable performances in the Hausa language film industry popularly known as Kannywood.

In compiling this list, Pulse Movies, industry professionals and Kannywood movie enthusiasts collaborated, and argued over who deserved to be recognised for their skills and work done in 2016.

Here’s a list of 10 actors who made Kannywood movies worth watching in 2016 (in no particular order).

Adam Zango

In October 2016, actor Adam Zango took to Instagram to announce his exit from the Hausa film industry.

Jamila Umar Nagudu is described as the Queen of Kannywood.

Rahama Sadau

Rahama Sadau joined the Hausa film industry in 2013. She gained fame after her role in the movie “Gani Ga Wane” alongside the popular Kannywood star Ali Nuhu.

In October 2016, Sadau was expelled from Kannywood by the Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria for featuring in a romantic music video by Jos born singer, ClassiQ.
