However, despite the memorable soundtracks from Nollywood movies, the importance of sound in Nigerian movies have been overlooked since the inception of the industry. While few filmmakers pay attention to it, many consider it inconsequential.

Most Nigerians can relate to the above tweet. Unlike Hollywood and Bollywood, Nollywood is a stranger to promoting a movie with its soundtrack, and it is usually a difficult task to find your favourite track from a Nollywood movie online.

Contrary to popular thoughts, not every Nollywood soundtrack reveals a whole plot and not every Nollywood soundtrack is 'crap.'

Over the past 10 years, Nollywood has produced original soundtracks that are subtly, perfect for moments in the movie, and possess lyrics and melodies that conjure visual memories from the story being told.

Pulse Movies have put together 10 great soundtracks from modern Nollywood movies.
