Final season gets premiere date

There would be a wedding and return of familiar faces including Wren, Paige, Melissa and Charlotte in "Pretty Little Liars" final season.

After seven seasons, the mystery drama series will kick off its eighth and final season on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

It was confirmed on August 29, 2016, that the upcoming season would be the series' final season.

Set in the small town of Rosewood, the series follows the lives of four girls, Spencer Hastings, Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin, and Emily Fields, whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, Alison DiLaurentis.

One year later, the estranged friends are reunited as they begin receiving messages from a mysterious figure named "A" who threatens to expose their deepest secrets, including ones they thought only Alison knew.

At first, they think it's Alison herself, but after her body is found, the girls realize that someone else is planning on ruining their lives.

Over the past six seasons, the show has taken fans over different turns and twists. It has been a suspense-filled journey trying to discover who A really is.

The show returned on June 21, 2016, to unearth answers to the remaining secrets and take down the “Uber A” for good in a season which the network described as 'the most romantic season to date.'

Fans can expect a wedding, return of familiar faces including Wren, Paige, Melissa, Charlotte, and more.  The series finale will be a 2-hour-episode.
