There is a dark version of your once upon a time favourite show 'Power Rangers'. Watch video.

Producer Adi Shankar (A Walk Among the Tombstones) and director Joseph Kahn have brought to life a 14-minute Power Rangers Bootleg film.

The film which is in no way affiliated with the 2016 Power Rangers reboot movie, offers a glimpse of what a bold and older Power Rangers movie would be like.

Adi Shankar also an explanation on his thoughts behind the short film.

"When I was a child, I had two favorite TV shows: the "X-Men" animated series and "Power Rangers." I eventually came to the realization that high school kids weaponized to fight an intergalactic threat would turn those kids into some seriously disturbed adults". - He said.

The short film stars James Van Der Beek and Katee Sackhoff .
