'Scandal's Elizabeth North promoted to series regular for season 5

Not only is she the new White House Chief of Staff, Portia De Rossi has also been promoted to series regular for upcoming season of 'Scandal'.

Elizabeth North is here to stay as she has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming 5th season of ABC's 'Scandal'.

According to EW, Portia de Rossi who joined the Shonda Rhimes' created show in season four, will be a regular face in the fifth season.

The fourth season of the show ended with Elizabeth betraying Cyrus and Milley and taking over as the White House Chief of Staff.

“I’ve known about the series regular thing for many months,” the actress tells . “I actually knew about it a long time before the cast knew about it; it was an internal secret.”

“I’ve been here for the entire season, so, honestly, I already feel like I’m part of the family. t would’ve been very sad for me not to come back. And to come back with a guarantee of a few more episodes than [I was in this season] is really fantastic.

It’s just a great ensemble cast. And we’re all really excited about the show — still. I came on as a fan, but all the actors are just as excited as when they first started the show. And I love Shonda Rhimes. I love Shonda Rhimes.”- She siad.
