To play the role of an area boy accurately, Bolanle Ninalowo became a conductor in Ojuelegba for four days before the movie "Picture Perfect."
The movie, which was inspired by her tailor, features Bisola Aiyeola, Bolanle Ninalowo, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Mary Remmy Njoku among others.
"I have a tailor, very very posh kid, Marion. She is very filicky, and I just looked at her and said 'what if, what if, what if,' and that was generally how the story began for me," Stephen said.
"It's not too much of a love story. At the very core of the story is the fact that sometimes, the picture perfect dad, husband or man may be found in the most imperfect person."
The movie stars Bolanle Ninalowo as Jobe, an area boy whose path crosses with a tailor, Kunbi, when her car breaks down in the hood.
Fans of Bolanle Ninalowo were probably skeptical about his ability to pull off the role, especially, because he had not been seen in anything like that.
"It was very challenging. First, I count my blessings on it, thank God for grace," Ninolowo said.
" I remember when I got the script, Biodun spoke to me about it even before she wrote it. She said she has this idea of writing a script about an area boy, and the next thing, she calls again and says she is writing it and is almost done."
Ninolawo revealed that he was scared of taking up the role.
"I said 'Okay Biodun, send me the script let me read it.' So, I read it and at first I didn't call her back. I was like 'what? How am I going to do this?'
"When I did get the courage to call her, she said 'Bolanle, this could change everything for you, if you're able to pull this off.'
"After I got off the phone with her, I had my moment with God, as always, and asked for grace and support."
To prepare and deliver a believable character, Ninalowo worked as a bus conductor in Ojuelegba for four days.
"I had to do my homework. I was a bus conductor for about four or five days before the film, and to learn the mannerism of the character. So, I was in Ojuelegba.
It was challenging, but here we are, and I'm thankful to God."
Bisola, who plays Kiksy in the movie, also spoke about the difference between the on-screen character and herself. The cast also shared their most memorable moment on screen and their box office expectations.
"Picture Perfect" opens in cinemas on July 7, 2017.
