Alejandro González Iñárritu wins 'Best Director' award
Alejandro González Iñárritu has won the Oscar for best director for Birdman at the 87th Academy Awards.

González beat Wes Anderson ("The Grand Budapest Hotel"), Bennett Miller ("Foxcatcher") and Morten Tyldum ("The Imitation Game") for the honor.
“For someone to win, someone has to lose. But the paradox is that true art, true individual expression […] can’t be compared,” - He said in his speech.
González Iñárritu is the second Latino director to receive this honor, with Gravity‘s Alfonso Cuarón being the first.
Recalling last year's best director winner, González said;
"Maybe next year the government will inflict immigration restrictions. Two Mexicans in a row. That's suspicious, I guess."
González 'Birdman' bagged three other awards: 'Best Picture', Best Cinematography for Emmanuel Lubezki and Best Original Screenplay.
