Filmmaker shares her 5 favourite Nollywood movies of the last 10 years

Omoni Oboli was asked to share her favourite Nollywood movies of the last 10 years, and these were her selections.

In an interview with Pulse Nigeria, the actress revealed that she loves to go to the cinemas.

"As often as work allows me, I love to watch movies. I love to relax and see a good movie and laugh. Forget myself for that period and just be in that world.

Unfortunately, her work doesn't make it easy for her to see every movie released in the cinema."

Pulse Movies asked the actress to share her top five favourite Nollywood movies of the last 10 years. It wasn't an easy task for Oboli, who has seen over five great movies in the last 10 years.

1. "Banana Island Ghost"

The filmmaker is a fan of the 2017 comedy movie, which tells the story of a ghost who refuses to go to heaven because he doesn’t have a soulmate.

2. "93 Days"

"I saw it at Toronto International Film Festival last year and we were just screaming. We saw it on the last day that it showed and it was mostly white people in the hall. They knew there were Nigerians in the hall.

"Because first of all, we were so noisy. We kept shouting. It was such a beautiful film.  I really really really liked "93 Days."

"I like the way it captured what we went through as a people."

3. "76"

"It was a good film," she said about the historical drama.

"76" tells the story of a young officer who gets into a romantic relationship with a beautiful O-Level student from the Southeastern part of Nigeria.

3. "Figurine"

"Take it or leave it. It's my film and I like it. It's a good film," the actress jokingly said about the 2009 supernatural suspense thriller by Kunle Afolayan.

The film starred her alongside Ramsey Nouah, who she reunites with for "My Wife and I,"which premieres this Friday, August 25, 2017.

5. "Anchor Baby"

"Fantastic movie," Oboli said about the 2010movie, which tells the story of an illegal immigrant couple from Nigeria on a quest for a better life for their unborn child.
