“Omo Oluweri” Movie starring Victoria Kolawole, Jide Kosoko to debut

Victoria Kolawole’s latest movie “Omo Oluweri” is to be released soon.

According to Yoruba Movie Gist, the movie is scheduled for release sometime this year. An exact date is yet to be disclosed.

“Omo Oluweri” when translated to English language from Yoruba means daughter of the river goddess.

The movie written and produced by Kolawole follows the events that occur when a poor family request for a child from the river goddess. The goddess grants this request by sacrificing one of her own to give them a girl. The girl is kidnapped and actions of the kidnappers lead to dire consequences.

“Omo Oluweri” directed by Adebayo Tijani also stars Olaniyi Afonja, Murphy Afolabi, Bimbo Oshin and Wale Akorede Okunu.

Kolawole has also written and produced movies like “Ajabo” and “The Event” starring Odunlade Adekola, Muyiwa Ademola and Sanyeri.

She produced her first movie titled “ Owuro Mi” featuring Femi Adebayo, Ayo Adesanya, Funke Etti and Damola Olatunji in 2013. Following this she produced and starred in “Abike Standing” featuring Adekola, Adesanya and Afeez Owo.

The producer is also fondly known as Queen Abike.
