Justice N Buba of the Federal High Court Ikoyi, has adjourned the copyright infringement case between Raconteur Productions and Omoni Oboli.
The hearing was adjourned to June 13, 3017, after the court hearing with held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
During the Wednesday court session, a witness from the Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Mrs Obasi, who was subpoenaed by the plaintiff in the case, was cross examined.
NFVCB was subpoenaed by the plaintiff to ascertain if they possess the right to register movies.
Testifying, Mrs Obasi stated that the movie "Okafor's Law" was registered by a licenced film distributor, Fillmone, in March 2017.
On Friday, March 24, 2017, an hour to an already scheduled premiere of the movie at IMAX Cinemas, Lekki, Omoni Oboli was served an injunction to halt the release of the movie "Okafor's Law," following a complaint filed by Raconteur Productions.
On Thursday, March 30, 2017, the Court granted Omoni Oboli the go ahead to release “Okafor’s Law” on Friday March 31, 2017.
