The anticipated film is produced by veteran Nigerian filmmaker Ego Boyo, and award winning director Akin Omotoso, whose movie "Vaya" is one of the films being submitted for consideration to represent South Africa for the 2018 Oscars.
The film is a tone poem set in Lagos, Cape Town and Zanzibar. It tells the story of Lola, who recently separated from her husband in Lagos, seeks solace in Zanzibar, hoping to forget and move on with her life.
The movie held its world premiere on August 6, 2017, at the 6th annual Blackstar film festival, Philadelphia, where it won the Audience Award.

"A Hotel Called Memory" stars Nse Ikpe Etim, Omotoso, Kemi Lala Akindoju, Nomzamo Mbatha, Abdi Hussein and Mmabatho Montsho.
The film is scheduled to screen at the 7th edition of Lights Camera Africa Film Festival, which will kick off on Friday, September 29, and will end on Sunday, October 2017 1, at Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The director Akin Omotoso is popular for "Jacob’s Cross,” “Man on Ground,” “Tell Me Something Sweet” among others.
