"I Joined Nollywood to Get Over A Heartbreak"

Nollywood actress, Princess Eze never planned to join the movie industry.

The Business Administration undergraduate of Lagos State University, who was born in Owerri and raised in Lagos, was told by a friend to try her hands in acting as a way of getting over her boyfriend who ditched her for another girl. Soon enough, acting became a vocation, then a passion and now the beautiful Lasuite cannot imagine life without acting.

According to her, the journey was anything but easy. Hear her story:

"I first came into Nollywood in 2011, after I broke up with my former boyfriend. A friend of mine sensed I was down emotionally and wanted to encourage me. He asked me to accompany him to an audition alongside some of his other friends. When we got there,  they gave us scripts to read as well as rehearse. I wanted  to drop the script but my friend asked me to give it a shot, telling me it would help me to get over the pain inflicted on me by my ex-boyfriend. There and then, they cast me for a role. But after that, I went for more auditions but things were not as easy as that first time."

"Back then, I went for many auditions. In some, they would pick me but they would not call me for the job; and in some, they would call me but before I got there, they would have given the role to someone else. It was so discouraging that I had to stop going for auditions for a while and decided to face my studies.I didn’t go back until I met Mr Kingsley Omoefe through a friend who decided to give me my first substantial  role. I later joined a theatre group to sharpen my skills as an actress and returned finally in 2012 to begin again."

Princess has featured in a number of movies like Yours Faithful, The Couples, Single Ladies and several others.
