The feud reportedly started after Taraji P. Henson jokingly asked Nia Long if she was on her period after she was rude to a cast member.
According to several reports, Nia Long and Taraji P. Henson feuded while filming Season 3 of "Empire."
TMZ reports that the feud started after Henson jokingly Nia Long if she was on her period after she was rude to a cast member.
The website also reports that the hair and makeup crew lodged an official complaint against Long, and Long also threatened to sue the show over an improper goodbye.
According to reports, the feud was intense enough that the producers tried to figure out a way to shoot their scenes separately as they were not speaking to each other.
TMZ's sources also revealed that Nia was habitually late, and severally had Henson and Terrence Howard wait for her on set for 30 minutes.
Nia is also reportedly also suing the show for an 'improper goodbye.' According to TMZ, it is a tradition that guest stars receive an applause and a 'thank you' once they complete their final scene. However, due to Howard having an allergic reaction, which led to his lip swelling, Long did not receive the proper goodbye.
TMZ reached out to Long's rep who said, "We stand by our comments this morning that Nia has always, and continues to be, a consummate professional on set. In respect to her working relationships with the cast, she came onto this project, in the first place, because of her long-standing friendship and professional relationship with Terrence Howard."
"We are not aware of any complaint, suit or case against her from anyone involved in the show, and we find the timing of all of these stories to be very suspicious, given that the series returns tonight," the Rep added.
In "Empire," Long plays Giuliana, a queenpin who runs a club in Las Vegas and makes brash moves in the gangster underworld of New York to secure a deal with Empire.
"Empire" returned from a long hiatus on March 22, 2017.
