Memry Savanhu made her debut with "Distance Within," but the historical war drama "76" introduces her to the world.
The movie "76" premiered in Nigeria on Thursday, November 3, 2016, and one of the questions viewers had to ask was "where has Memry" been all our lives?"
A Zimbabwe-born actress, the beautiful Savanhu produced her first movie in 2008 titled "Distance Between." The 2008 movie stars Rita Dominic, Mercy Johnson, Kalu Ikeagwu and Yemi Blaq and was directed by Izu Ojukwu.
Years later, the actress features in Izu Ojukwu's much anticipated movie "76," a movie which has been described as one of the best in years. She brought life to the movie, perfectly interpreting the character Eunice. According to Hollywood Reporter, her character in the historical war drama as Dewa's dirty-dancing party-girl neighbour deserves her own spinoff movie. A spin-off movie on Eunice would without doubt be an enthralling journey.
Memry as Eunice doesn't grab your attention with her dialogue as she rarely speaks. She rather mesmerizes with her mannerism, her gestures and her depth as a skilled actor. She introduces her mastery in acting with an outstanding interpretation. While you get to enjoy her dance moves, you also get to appreciate her as an actor. You get to appreciate an introduction to yet another actress deserving of leading an award season in the 'best-supporting actress' category.
Eight years in the industry, Memry has featured in notable productions including "One Fine Day, " "Cougars Reloaded," "One Fine Day," "Catwalq," "On Bended Knees" among others.
There are actors who find themselves gracing movie jackets after an accidental visit to a set. Memry Savanhu isn't one of them. The actress who always knew where she was headed, revealed that she usually acted in school plays while in school.
