"Lucifer"  the American television series premiered on Fox on January 25, 2016.

1. The series is a very loose adaptation of the comic book character created by Neil Gaiman for the comic book series, "The Sandman."

2. "Lucifer" revolves around Lucifer, a fallen angel, who is bored and unhappy in hell, and moves to Los Angeles, where he owns a nightclub.

3. The character has a supernatural awareness of any person's hidden desires and can compel them to speak the truth. He uses these abilities to expose sinners in public.

4. Averaging 10.5 million total Viewers across platforms, the show is FOX’s second highest-rated new series this season, among Adults 18-49.

5. On May 28, 2015, the website One Million Moms launched a petition to prevent the show's airing. According to the petition, the new series "will glorify Satan as a caring, likable person in human flesh.

6. The series also stars Rachael Harris, Lauren German, D.B Woodside, South African born actress Lesley-Ann Brandt, among others.

7.  In April 2016, Fox renewed the series for a second season.
