Created by Gerry Conway and Don Heck in 1978, Commander Steel had his body reinforced and enhanced with steel devices and served in World War II with his abilities. His character is also the grandfather of Dr. Nate Heywood, who is set to be played by Nick Zano in the series.

Season two of the series will premiere on October 13, 2016.
