Twitter went abuzz on Monday April 6, 2015 following award winning filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan's tweets on Ibos being behind piracy in the industry.

The tweet got him some responses from colleagues Uche Jombo, Charles Novia, and Ifeanyi Ikpoenyi who called him an 'overrated filmmaker'. 

Kunle went ahead to apologise for his tweets which came amid the Oba of Lagos' controversial threat on the lives of Igbos residing in Lagos State.

In an interview with Channels Television, the 'October 1' director further explained the tweets.

According to him, he was not aware of the Oba's comments, but was only bitter at time of tweets.

Speaking on Ifeanyi Ikpoenyi who called on him an 'overrated' filmmaker, he said "I don't like to trade words with colleagues".

Kunle also stated that he is one of the non-tribalistic filmmakers in the industry "'You can tell from my works that I'm one of the non-tribalistic people in the industry" - He said.
