The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that actors from across the country gathered at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja for the opening rally of the two-day campaign.

Mr Agility Onwura, Chairman of the Guild in Abuja, said that the event was in solidarity with the UN, which declared July 30 as World Day against Trafficking in Persons.

“As stakeholders and concerned citizens we have gathered in the nation’s capital to campaign against human trafficking, especially of women and children.

“This is Project AATIWAC, Actors against Trafficking in Women and Children, initiated to raise our voices against the inhuman act of trafficking."
