According to HBO executive, Francesca Orsi, who got to sit in on the table read for the final episodes of the show, there would be quite a number of deaths in season eight.
She revealed this during a HBO-centric panel at the INTV conference in Jerusalem on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.
“It was a really powerful moment in our lives and our careers,” she said.
“None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started falling down to their deaths.”
Orsi also saidthat the table read was an emotional moment for the cast of the series as everyone stood and applauded for 15 to 20 minutes after they finished.
“It was amazing,” she said. “By the very end, everyone looked down and looked up and tears were in their eyes.”
Former "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa visited the set and told Entertainment Weekly that the upcoming season will be the greatest thing that has ever aired on TV.
Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow on the show, had told BBC that he was really emotional about the final season of the show. He revealed that he had cried after reading the final episode.
Unlike past seasons, the upcoming season will consist of six episodes. HBO is also developing up to five spinoff series to air after the finale.
