Actor talks re-branding, getting into character, greatest fear

Gregory Ojefua spoke on becoming Greg Oj, playing the legend Ojukwu in "The Encounter," among other interesting topics.

Nollywood actor, Greg Oj, was recently a guest at Pulse TV.

During an exclusive interview, the actor who has entertained movie lovers as interesting characters including General Ojukwu, Brume among others, spoke on various engaging topics.

Speaking on what makes a good film for him, Greg Oj who was previously known as Gregory Ojefua, said: "Good film for me is a good story. I want to forget that I am watching a movie, and just be taken away by it. Then good technicals. I want the pictures to be clear, I want to hear what the actors are saying."

"As much as possible, I always like a bit of comedy in it, just a little comic relief. It always helps to bring us out a bit, then take us back in."

Speaking on the cinema culture in Nigeria, OJ said: "I'm pretty impressed. More and more people are embracing the cinema lifestyle. I can tell that from the number of times I have been to the cinema for tours - sell out, sell out, here and there. It shows that a lot of people have adopted that culture. They are willing to come out and pay to see a movie, instead of waiting for Alaba boys to pirate, or download online."

On his most challenging role yet, Ojefua said: "Definitely "The Encounter" where I play General Ojukwu. It's one thing to play any fictional character where you can decide to give it any persona you choose, unlike a real person, a legend for that matter."

"You have to be that person, you have to talk the talk, you have to walk the walk, and in his own case, smoke the smoke. That pushed me outside my box. I have always been that confident actor. I'm like 'bring it on, bring it on,' but when they brought that on, oh boy they brought it on. But from the reviews, I think I brought it on quiet well."
