Showrunner talks romantic chemistry between Jon Snow and Daenerys

According to the showrunner of "Game of Thrones," neither Jon or Dany knew how powerful their feelings for each other are until last episode.

Jon Snow and Dany meet for the first time

On the last episode of "Game of Thrones," an injured Jon woke up to find Daenerys by his side.

The two shared a very intense moment after Jon apologized for the death of her dragon, called her "My Queen," and finally swore fealty to her.

The scene, which further hinted the possibility of a romantic relationship between the two, elicited reactions on Twitter.

Speaking during the "Inside the Episode video," David Benioff said that neither Jon or Dany knew how powerful their feelings for each other are until last episode.

"I think it's a big moment for her in terms of the way she feels about him," he said.

"I think neither of them really knew exactly how powerful their feelings were towards each other until this moment."

"Just the notion of falling for someone, that involves weakness and it's not something a queen does but she feels that happening and he feels that happening for her," Benioff added.

"I think both of them are on kind of unfamiliar ground and especially because it's with an equal."

Also, Alan Taylor, who directed the episode spoke about their inevitable relationship.

"There’s no secret that this is where this is going," he said to Daily Beast.

"Readers of the book have known that things were heading towards this destination for a while. Even the characters in this story know it’s heading in this direction," he added.

"Tyrion is making fun of Dany about what’s brewing. So we knew it’s got to come at some point, and I was glad that I got to be there for a major step forward for them. The fact that Jon’s willing to now bend the knee to her as the next queen is a huge political step."

"The fact that they are starting to fall for each other is huge. It comes down to tiny moments and how they interact with each other.

"They’re holding hands and there’s this great look where she’s swooning and she steps back from it, but it’s clear that that’s our destination at this point."

A relationship between Jon Snow and Dany would be incest, as Dany is her aunt. But hey, it's "Game of Thrones," a show that started off with incest sex.

Also, they are Targareyns; a house known for marrying each other to keep their bloodline pure.

The final episode of "Game of Thrones" season 7 will air on Sunday, August 27, 2017.
