TV series breaks Emmy record

After winning 'Best Drama Series' award for the first time, HBO's 'Game of Thrones' went on to set new record at the 2015 Emmy Awards.

Peter Dinklage, winner of the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for 'Game of Thrones'

and ended it as the record holder for most wins for a series in a single year.

On Sunday, September 20, 2015, the HBO show shattered records at the 67th Emmy Awards by winning 12 awards, 'Best Drama Series' award inclusive.

'Game of Thrones' bested 'Mad Men,' 'Orange Is the New Black,' 'House of Cards,' 'Homeland' and 'Better Call Saul' to win the award for the first time, after several years of nominations.

The show beat previous holder 'The West Wing'which won 9 awards in 2000 Emmy Awards, to become the show with the most wins.
