Which is better: Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad? "GOT" showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, revealed a secret rivalry between shows.
The crime and fantasy dramas have a secret rivalry.
In a recent interview, showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss revealed how obsessed they were with defeating "Breaking Bad's" IMDB's ratings after the "Battle of the Bastards" episode aired in June, 2016.
“Well, can we tell you guys a secret?” Benioff asked. “After that episode aired, we were talking to Miguel Sapochnik every hour, and all we kept doing ― we didn’t look at the ratings, we didn’t look at any of that stuff ― we were checking the IMDb episode rating. Cause our friend Rian Johnson directed the ‘Ozymandias’ episode of ‘Breaking Bad,’ which was the 10.0, and we’re like, ‘We gotta get freakin’ Rian!’”
While “Battle of the Bastards” originally scored a 10, it has currently gone down to a 9.9. “Somebody screwed us,” Weiss Joked. “I think Rian opened 25,000 IMDb accounts and just voted us down.”
In the episode titled "Battle of the Bastards," Jon Snow faced off with Ramsay Bolton in a battle which got Rickon killed. Snow won the battle with the help of the Knights of the Vale. In “Ozymandias,” Hank got shot, and Walt Jr. learnt the truth about his father
“Battle of the Bastards,” won four awards for visual effects, editing, sound mixing, makeup among others at the 2016 Emmys.
The HBO show won the best drama series for the second year in a row, at the 2016 Emmys.
