Producers apologize to fans for Hodor's unexpected fate

The fifth episode of "Game of Thrones" season 6 came with the unexpected death of a favourite character, and here's what producers have to say.

Show creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, were invited by Jimmy Kimmel to apologize for killing off a favourite "Game of Thrones" character.

On Sunday, May 22, 2016, the fifth episode of "Game of Thrones" season six titled revealed why Hodor was able to say just one word - his name.

Fans also got to learn that Hodor's condition was accidentally caused by Bran. The episode which offered answers to questions fans have had since the show's first season, also came with the unexpected death of the gentle character Hodor.

Weiss and Benioff apologized not for killing Hodor, but for all of the fans who will be shouting “Hodor” from now on when they want someone to “hold the door.”

“We’re sorry for all the idiots who will, from now on, be shouting ‘Hodor’ every time you go through a door,” Benioff says.

“We forgot how annoying people could be. That’s our bad. Again, so, so sorry. People are the worst,” Weiss adds.
