"Game of Thrones" Here's how show affects Pornhub's traffic

According to a newly released data by Pornhub, you won't be wrong to say people prefer the nudity on “Game of Thrones” to actual porn.

On Sunday, April 24, the highly anticipated sixth season of "Game of Thrones" made its debut.

Following its premiere, Cinema Blend asked Pornhub  for their statistics relating to the HBO show which is a popular search as fans visit site to find a glimpse of the nudity and sex that the series is known for.

According to the porn site, throughout April, searches containing "Game of Thrones" were slightly above average, but shot up in the days before the season premiere, peaking at 370% on day of premiere.

While the debut episode "Red Woman" aired, Pornhub's traffic in the United State of America dropped by 4%. A huge amount of traffic considering that Pornhub has over 60 million daily visitors, and the United States ranks as its number one market.

In 2015, it was discovered that while searches increased +200% for the Premiere and Finale episodes, every Sunday night also saw an average 80% increase in GOT related searches.

Pornhub also shared term used by visitors who visit the site. According to them, the term “Sex Scene” followed by “Parody” and “Porn” are frequently used.  More specific searches include the season five Cersei's “Walk of Shame” scene.

Titled "The Red Woman," the premiere episode came to an end with Melisandre, in the privacy of her quarters, removing her magical necklace to reveal her true form as an ancient crone.
