On July, 3, 2015, International Documentary Film Festival (iRep) will pay tribute to the late former newspaper columnist and one of the pioneers of the Nigerian film industry, Pa Francis Oladele, who recently passed away.
iREP to honour late legendary actor in July
After a brief illness, one of the pioneers of the Nigerian Film Industry, Pa Francis Oladele, has passed away at 82.

The event is scheduled to take place 3PM at Freedom Park. In 2011, the late actor received the iREP Life Achievement Award.
Oladele passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015, in his Oyo State hometown.
Oladele who was aged 82, produced the first indigenous film in Nigeria, a screen adaptation of Prof. Wole Soyinka‘s play titledKongi’s Harvest, in 1969.

He also produced 'Bullfrog in the Sun,' an adaptation of Chinua Achebe's 'Things Fall Apart.'
