ABC has confirmed a new three-hour musical version of the 1987 romantic drama "Dirty Dancing," which starred Patrick Swazye and Jennifer Grey.

According to several reports, "Scream Queens" star, Abigail Breslin will play the new “Baby,” who has been described as an “an innocent young woman in the early 1960’s who vacations with her affluent parents and siblings in the Catskill Mountains and falls for the resort’s working-class dance instructor.”

To be executive produced by Allison Shearmur and Eleanor Bergstein, the adaptation will be written by Jessica Sharzer, while Wayne Blair will direct.

Since the debut of the original "Dirty Dancing,"  there has been the 2004 sequel "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights", and a 1988 TV series which starred Patrick Cassidy and Melora Hardin.

The original "Dirty Dancing" told the story of Frances "Baby" Houseman, who while spending summer with her family in a holiday camp,  falls in love with her camp's dance instructor Johnny Castle.
