New Will Smith movie coming to Nigerian cinemas in January 2016

The film follows the journey of a Nigerian Doctor Bennet Omalu and how his research brings him at loggerheads with the National Football League in the United States.

Will Smith in “Concussion

“Concussion” starring award-winning American actor Will Smith is set to be released in Nigerian cinemas from January 1st 2016.

In the movie, Smith plays the role of a Nigerian forensic neuro-pathologist and American immigrant, Dr Bennet Omalu.

The film based on true events, focuses on Omalu and his findings on discovery of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). The film follows his journey and how his research brings him at loggerheads with the National Football League (NFL) in the United States.

His findings and quest to uncover the truth of how CTE affects football players eventually lead him to become an American hero.

The movie written and directed by Peter Landesman also stars Alec Baldwin, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Luke Wilson, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Albert Brooks and David Morse.

“Concussion” premiered in the United States of America on December 25, 2015. The film is to be distributed in West Africa by SilverBird Distribution.
