Movie starring Desmond Elliot, Ini Edo, Patience Ozokwor out on DVD

Emem Isong's recent movie on rape, 'Code of Silence,' which recently hit Nigeria cinemas, is out on DVD.

Royal Arts Academy in conjunction with Nollywood Workshop recently premiered their movie on rape

The movie which received positive reviews, is out on DVD nationwide. Shawn Faqua who starred in the movie, took to his Instagram page to share the news;

"Grab your copy of 'Code of Silence' out on DVD/VCDs. Now out of Cinemas Don't STOP talking. #BreaktheSilence#speakOUT#RapeisNOTanOption," he wrote.

The movie revolves around a young girl, Adanma,  who was gang-raped by a prominent politician and his aide on her way back from school.

Adanma’s family, being of humble origins, are afraid to report the matter to the relevant authorities. Citing the excuse that rape is considered a taboo in society and it will make her undesirable for marriage.

Starring Shawn Faqua, ‘Code of Silence’ was produced and directed by Emem Isong, with Chris Eneaji as assistant director.

Story and original screenplay was by Bola Aduwo, who was also Associate Producer on the project.  Additional screenplay was by Kehinde Joseph.
