Christopher Nolan 'Batman' director reportedly involved in live action version of 'Akira'

Hollywood director Christopher Nolan who is best known for his work on the 'Batman' trilogy series is being rumoured to be involved in the live-action remake of the 1988 classic anime 'Akira'.

For over a decade Hollywood, Warner Brothers to be specific, has been trying to tackle 'Akira' but now it seems they have gotten the solution.

Akira is regarded as the most influential and famous anime of all time. It was a highly popular manga made by Katsuhiro Otomo before adapted into anime. Akira is a sci-fi flick set in Neo-Tokyo after World War 3. It features elements of government conspiracies, bike gangs and cyber punk.

The anime has a great influence in popular culture as well. The video of Kanye West's 2007 single 'Stronger' was based off the classic anime.
