The Voice season 9 may have just started two and a half weeks ago, but the NBC show is already looking toward season 10. On Wednesday (Oct. 7), the coaches for season 10 were announced, and they feature one familiar returning face: Christina Aguilera.
According to E! Online, she will be replacing current season 9 coach, Gwen Stefani, who also sat in The Voice's red swivel seat for season 7. The other coaches from season 9, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams, will also take part in season 10. Past coaches on The Voice include Shakira, Usher and CeeLo Green.
"The coaches on The Voice continue to bring incredible energy, unrivaled musical expertise and a want-to-win attitude that makes for the perfect ingredients of a two-time Emmy-winning show," President of late night and alternative programming at NBC Entertainment Paul Telegdy said in a statement. "We can't wait to see what season 10 will bring."
Aguilera is a familiar face at The Voice. She previously held the coaching job in seasons 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8. She has yet to win a season of The Voice, but her season 5 team member Jacquie Lee was the runner-up to Team Adam's Tessanne Chin.
Season 10 of The Voice has yet to get a concrete premiere date, but it is due to arrive in February 2016. Meanwhile, season 9 of the show just got underway and wrapped up its blind audition rounds. The Voice will move in to the battle round portion on Monday, Oct. 12.
