Weza Solange says selection is key to great show

Ex-BBA Housemate, Weza Solange has said a good selection will be key to a great Big Brother Nigeria.

In an exclusive chat with Pulse, Weza, who co-produced Big Brother Angola, said with a good selection by producers of the show, it is bound to be the biggest of all Big Brother editions.

“From what I saw from Big Brother Angola, I hope that Big Brother Nigeria does much better as well or even better because it is home. When you have BBAfrica, there are certain standards which are not even African standards but when you have certain behaviours it is because it is infused in it.

“I believe that if the selection for Big Brother Nigeria is good, it will be the biggest thing to hit Nigeria. if they do a proper selection, it is really about the casting, it should be about people who are not obsessed about Big Brother,” she said.

Weza has disclosed that her experience as a former housemate and a producer has taught her that best contestants and housemates are those who aren’t obsessed with Big Brother or those who know next to nothing about the show.

In her words: “I realise that the best contestants were the ones who never knew what Big Brother was about. Our first winner of Big Brother Angola became so big that even the President wanted to tap from his fame and popularity to get the crowd.

“Nobody has ever gone on a motorcade with people cheering and the winner actually achieved that just for winning the show. The winner was a smart person, who never knew what Big Brother was about so we saw real people, genuine feelings not people pretending. A person with flaws, cries, screams, talent and if you manage to get that combination for Big Brother Nigeria, you have gold,” she said

Weza was a co-producer for the Big Brother Angola as well as a consultant to Endemol, the owners of the Big Brother franchise.
