Based on the book “The Run of His Life: The People V. O.J. Simpson” by Jeffrey Toobin, the series offers a look at the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers.

"American Crime Story" stars John Travolta as defense attorney Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer as defense attorney Robert Kardashian,Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark, Billy Magnussen as Kato Kaelin, and Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran.

Serving as a spin-off and companion series for "American Horror Story," which is created by the same producers, the first season, subtitled The People v. O. J. Simpson, will focus on the murder trial of O. J. Simpson.

The upcoming American true crime anthology series is created by Scott Alexander and , and will premiere in 2016.
