Yetunde Wunmi who turned 55 on February 22, 1960 said her age hasn't slowed her down and she can act almost any role.
Popular Yoruba actress Yetunde Wunmi whose real names are Hassanat Taiwo Akinwande spoke about being 55 years old and 35 years on stage.
The actress who made her debut in the TV Yoruba series Feyi Kogbon in the '80's said she gives thanks to Allah for his love and mercy on her.
"I feel good being 55. I give thanks to Almighty Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Beneficent" she said about clocking 55 years of age.
Yetunde Wunmi who turned 55 on February 22, 1960 said her age hasn't slowed her down and she can act almost any role. "In terms of my career, there is no role I can't play" she said. She however revealed that she cannot play the type of role she acted in the movie Sussy Mama because of her religious beliefs.
Hitting the landmark of thirty-five years as an actress she said many people who started the same time with her are no longer around. "A lot of people started that same time but they're no more. Some are just there. I am not saying this to sound arrogant or mock anybody, I am just praising Almighty Allah for his love and mercy on me and my family."
In 2006, Yetunde Wunmi was arrested by the NDLEA for possession of cocaine. Speaking on the scandal she said "it was a shocking and sad experience, but despite that I still held on to my God and he didn't disappoint me. He only used the incident as a lesson for me."
