When Psquare had their 1st dispute in 2014

Two years ago Psquare shocked the world with the rumours of them splitting up. Read all about the dramatic event that happened in 2014.

While it was Peter Okoye who waved the red flag this year it was Jude Okoye who subliminally announced to the world that Psquare was over two years ago.

One day in April, 2014 Jude Okoye tweeted “After 10 Years of Hard Work, It’s Over.” This ‘loaded’ tweet fired off several stories of how Peter and Paul Okoye were no longer seeing eye to eye.

According to popular blogger Linda Ikeji things were so bad between Paul and Peter that they reportedly fought during rehearsals and had to be separated by dancers.

Rumour had it that the beef between the brothers was caused by one of their wives. According to the grapevine Lola Omotayo-Okoye was the reason behind the fight. Jude Okoye’s no-show at Peter’s wedding led many to believe that he was not in support of his marriage to Lola.

The reason for their fight is eerily similar to that of 2016. Two years ago Peter Okoye complained that he had little or no input in the group. He claimed that Jude and Paul do not consider his ideas.

The industry practically stood still when this news came out. Psquare splitting up? We weren't ready. Yes, D’banj and Don Jazzy had split up two years later but no one envisaged that the blood brothers would be parting ways.

Everyone waited to see what would happen next? Would they really split? Will they share their properties (according to Peter Okoye’s recent interview they actually did), and what will the future hold for them?

No one wanted the twins to split. Back then it felt as if a huge chunk of contemporary Nigerian music was about to be ripped off. Fans pleaded for them not to split. Even GLO that made them ambassadors in 2010 threatened that if they split they would be dropped.

Cooler heads prevailed and later that month the Psquare brothers and Jude Okoye announced that there would be no split. A few days later they made their first public appearance at undefineds birthday bash.

Unfortunately two years later the same issues came up again...
