Taylor Swift Singer served $42 million lawsuit over 'Shake It Off' track

R&B artist Jesse Braham claims Taylor Swift, who released the hit track in 2014, took the lyrics from his 2013 song 'Haters Gone Hate'.

Taylor swift has been sued for $42 million over her hit single 'shake It Off'.

R&B artist Jesse Braham, who goes by the stage name Jesse Graham, claims the 25-year-old singer who released the hit track in 2014  took the lyrics from his 2013 song 'Haters Gone Hate'.

He told the New York Daily News that the words of his own song - "Haters gone hater, playas gone play… Watch out for them fakers, they'll fake you everyday"  -  were lifted and used in Taylor's song, in which she sings: "Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play/ And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate,' and 'And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake."

Adding that he wants to be recognized on the track, he told the site: "At first I was going to let it go, but this song is my song all the way."

A legal source told Perez Hilton: "Mr. Braham, who is representing himself, cannot claim copyright protection for the phrases 'haters gone hater' and 'playas gone play'. The Copyright Act does not protect short phrases and these phrases are not original to him".

Meanwhile another reports says that Braham also plans on filing a lawsuit against CNN for the title of its morning show 'New Day'.
