It was also reported that the Afro Juju legend had gotten married to another lady, Olajumoke Olayinka Peters. His manager Femi Davies has now denied this report. According to Davies, Peters is a ‘law-abiding citizen who wouldn't risk bigamy as he is legally married to Sammie Peters.

“The story is not true. Shina is not married to any other woman other than Sammie,” Davies told Punch, adding, “He is legally married so he cannot have another marriage by law.”
The business manager however refused to address the relationship between the iconic singer and Olajumoke Olayinka Peters.

On January 7, 2016 Sammie returned to Nigeria four days before her 56th birthday after undergoing almost two years of cancer treatment in the United States of America.
