Although, Rihanna squashed the dating rumors almost two months ago, 35-year-old Memphis Grizzle star, Matt Barnes tells TMZ that, "I'm too grown to lie. It is what it is."

Matt Barnes has refused to bow down to the 'lies' that he and Rihanna never ever past the crush stage together. The NBA star insists he dated the 'FourFiveSeconds' singer.

Although, Rihanna squashed the dating rumors almost two months ago, the 35-year-old Memphis Grizzle star tells TMZ that, "I'm too grown to lie. It is what it is. Igot no beef with nobody. I ain’t got no reason. Ain't no reason to have beef."

Back in August, Rihanna, 27, posted a screenshot of the basketball pro to her Instagram account in response to his comments about their alleged relationship, writing the hashtags "#shesnotthatintoyou #shesnotintoyouatall #shesneverevenmetyou," along with a few others.

Meanwhile, Barnes had informed TMZ that there was something romantic going on between himself and the singer. On August 16, he revealed that even though he and Rihanna were just friends, there was a possibility it could turn into something more.

''Rihanna is my friend right now, so we’ll see where it goes,” said Barnes, adding, “It just passed the crush stage a little bit.''
