Two days before the first leg of her Africa tour 'Cuppy Takes Africa', she granted Pulse TV an exclusive interview. In the interview she spoke about her deep passion for Nigeria.

"A lot of people are surprised when they see how passionate I am about about Nigerian culture, even in the way I dress. And I think that I am an advocate for the country outside of Nigeria. I am very passionate about getting myself involved [in] representing the country outside as well. A lot of people question that. I think that right now in Nigeria we are going through a very difficult time where a lot of people are losing faith in the country" said DJ Cuppy.

"I think it is fantastic that we have a new...we've had a very smooth, peaceful transition of democracy. Personally it is a great time to be a Nigerian, such amazing times ahead, very unpredictable. And I think it is time for a new generation to come through and take what's theirs" she further said.
