A selfie is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a digital camera or camera phone held in the hand or supported by a selfie stick. Selfies are often shared on social networking services such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. But not all selfies broke records! So here are three major celebrity group selfies which no one could ever forget!

The Obama Selfie in 2013 practically got the entire world talking for two major reasons: where it was taken and how much was its impact! While the entire Africa/world was mourning the death of a hero, Nelson Mandela, US president Barack Obama, British PM, David Cameron and Danish PM, Helle Thorning-Schimdt were busy posing for a record-breaking selfie! People slammed the world leaders for undermining the seriousness and importance of the event to not only South Africans or Africa but to the entire world. However, the "threesome selfie" went to have over a billion posts on Twitter alone!

The Oscar Awards 2014 group selfie also created  a buzz on social media. Thanks to host Ellen DeGeneres, that selfie was able to pull out more than a Meryl Streep on board. In fact, it had the faces of Lupita Nyong'O, Bradley Cooper, Jared Leto, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Kevin Spacey as well as Lupita's younger brother to make it the world's most famous group selfie of all time. By the end of the ceremony it had been retweeted over 2 million times, less than 24 hours later, it had been retweeted over 2.8 million times. Beating the previous record, 778,801, which was held by Obama. Hollywood Reporter claims the selfie was worth a $1 billion!

play 2015 Soul Train Awards selfie

Last but not the least, singer Tyrese Gibson wanted to remake history when he got the likes of major successful black stars to show up for his 2015 Soul Train Awards selfie. From the photo he posted on his Instagram on November 8, we could see faces of R. Kelly, Eryka Badu, Tank, Tyrese, Debora Lee, Naturi Naughton, Letoya Luckett, Janae Monae, Demetria McKinney and so many other amazing African American talents.
