The Obama Selfie in 2013 practically got the entire world talking for two major reasons: where it was taken and how much was its impact! While the entire Africa/world was mourning the death of a hero, Nelson Mandela, US president Barack Obama, British PM, David Cameron and Danish PM, Helle Thorning-Schimdt were busy posing for a record-breaking selfie! People slammed the world leaders for undermining the seriousness and importance of the event to not only South Africans or Africa but to the entire world. However, the "threesome selfie" went to have over a billion posts on Twitter alone!

The Oscar Awards 2014 group selfie also created  a buzz on social media. Thanks to host Ellen DeGeneres, that selfie was able to pull out more than a Meryl Streep on board. By the end of the ceremony it had been retweeted over 2 million times, less than 24 hours later, it had been retweeted over 2.8 million times. Beating the previous record, 778,801, which was held by Obama. Hollywood Reporter claims the selfie was worth a $1 billion!

Last but not the least, singer Tyrese Gibson wanted to remake history when he got the likes of major successful black stars to show up for his 2015 Soul Train Awards selfie.
