In 2008 a lot of people had written 2face Idibia off. His latest album ‘The Unstoppable’ received a lukewarm response and mixed reviews. Also 2face’s baby mamas drama didn’t endear him to the music fans in Nigeria. With so many negative headlines about his private life it looked like 2face couldn’t bounce back. Fortunately for 2 Baba, 2009 was his year of redemption as he dropped an international version of his previous album which turned out to be a hit. 2face was back in business and even his private life was relegated to the background.
In terms of bouncing back really fast Tiwa Savage seems to hold that record. On April 28, 2016 Tee Billz blasted his wife on his Instagram page and accused her of sleeping with her label mates Dr. Sid, Don Jazzy and Nigerian pop legend 2face Idibia. A day later Tiwa Savage granted an interview exclusively obtained by Pulse where she spoke explicitly about her damaged marriage with Tee Billz. After the record breaking interview Tiwa Savage has gone on her with her career like nothing happened.
In 2011 veteran Yoruba actor Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe was arrested by members of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for allegedly drug trafficking. He was locked up in custody by the NDLEA and all efforts to find on any illegal drug on him were unsuccessful. The controversy did not tarnish his high reputation in the movie industry. He was back in the movie scene quickly after the mess.
The Nollywood actress was synonymous with controversy for a long time. For almost five years Tonto Dikeh bounced from controversy to another making her Nollywood’s bad girl. It was only until last year that Tonto Dikeh left all the crazy behaviour as she got married.
On January 1, 2016 Olamide shook the industry after his controversial statement at the Headies and crazy tweets at Don Jazzy and the Mavin crew. Olamide’s behaviour had irreversible ramifications on his career. Thankfully a few days later Olamide made peace with Don Jazzy and in June 2016 he officially apologized to the organizer of the Headies- Ayo Animashaun.
