The following steps below should help you move from a floater to a top notch celebrity in the Nigerian entertainment scene. These steps don’t work without some sort of respectable talent. You can’t be a nuisance and expect to be a celebrity. It doesn’t work lie that.

Read the steps below;

1) Show off on Instagram

Whether you are an actor, singer and comedian one of the keys to is to show off on Instagram. Wear the latest designers and be very stylish on your Instagram. Make sure your Instagram account is also popping, post at least five pictures of yourself every day until you attain that level of stardom that you have always wanted. This key also extends to SnapChat, Twitter and other social media apps. If you can’t afford the latest clothes, here’s a hint- get a stylist to give you these clothes at a very affordable rate for a short period of time. The same goes for jewelry.

2) Social climb

There’s nothing wrong with social climbing as long as it is done rightly, and that is doing with grace and class. How do you social climb as a celebrity? Make sure you go to the biggest parties and events. At the events make sure your picture is taken by photographers who work for the popular blogs and sites. Don’t forget to send birthday shout-outs and greetings to really famous people also. Taking pictures with them doesn’t hurt too. In summary make sure you are seen in places that are popping. The more people see you, the more popular you become.

3) Stoke the fire controversy

No one likes a dull celebrity. There should be a bit of buzz, controversy around a celebrity. If you have not been noticed by those who matter, you can pull strings behind the scene and create your own controversy. A lot of celebrities do this, even the A-list celebs. Leak a story or two out there about you and go on public to deny. Make sure the story can catch the attention of people. In stoking the fire of controversy make sure it doesn’t get out of hand and you can no longer control it.

4) Release photos consistently

I don’t know why Nigerian celebrities do this a lot but it seems it works for them. On your come up as a Nigerian celebrity make sure you release a lot of photos, at least every quarter if possible. Who doesn’t like a good photo? People remember photos a whole lot more. If they have your image stuck in their heads they can easily remember you when they see you in a music video, a movie or on the red carpet.

5) Catch the acting bug

This is very, very peculiar to the Nigerian entertainment biz. Everyone has caught the acting bug. There are a lot of celebrities who are famous for acting in a couple of small Nollywood movies. Having a movie career is not a bad idea as long as you can keep up with it and help it push your brand. You can’t act in one movie this year and go off the radar in the next five years. If you want people to celebrate you easily just be a committed actor.
