Moji Olaiya Actress' daughter breaks down as she pays tribute

To friends and fans Moji Olaiya was a humble woman, but to her daughter, she was 'the most hardworking person'.

On June 6, 2017, Moji Olaiya's daughter, Adunoluwa Farombi, stepped into the limelight to pay tribute to her mother.

Her tearful daughter's voice broke as she told fans and friends, "I don't know what to say. She was the best mum. She was very gentle, she doesn't get angry, she's the most hardworking person I know. Even if she's going through the most difficult things, she won't cry."

The 19-year-old paused as she spoke struggling to get words through adding, "I just feel that she's in a much better place. I just give glory to God  because I know she's resting. I just thank God."

Her emotion filled the silent Blue Roof of LTV 8, Ikeja, which was earlier shook with laughter and cries. With tears in their eyes, Yoruba stars lined up to pay tribute to the late actress.

Toyin Aimakhu, Foluke Daramola, Lepa Shandy, Oga Bello, Pasuma, Artquake, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Adeniyi Johnson,Salawa Abeni, Fathia Balogun, Ogogo, Kehinde Bankole, Peju Ogunmola, and others took it in turns to pay tribute.

Throughout the event, Adunola sat in the front-row with her grandmother and uncles alongside her.

 

Moji's family members came into the hall in all black as they held each other for support.

Toyin Aimakhu and Yomi Fabiyi opened the memorial with a speech from Foluke Daramola who spoke on behalf of the organising committee.

"I remember I introduced Moji to acting. We thank you all for your support and I pray we all would not experience such in our lives again," she said.

In a moving tribute, Lepa Shandy shared her memories of Moji saying, "Let's just thank God for her life. A life well spent. Moji has left us but we are still here, let's thank God for our life."

The very solemn event was organized by the burial organizing committee for the actress at Blue Roof at LTV 8, Agindingbi, Ikeja.

Moji Olaiya will be buried on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the Ebony Vault, Ikoyi Cemetery.

She died on Wednesday, May 17, from cardiac arrest, two months after giving birth to a baby girl.

Moji is survived by two daughters, Adunoluwa Farombi and her two-month-old baby, Maryam Odutola.

May her soul continue to rest in peace.
