Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe failed to show up in court yesterday, Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

Her absence stalled the domestic violence trial of her husband Lanre Gentry at Ogba Magistrate Court.

Lanre Gentry has been charged with alleged domestic violence against his star actress wife. In April 2017, Mercy Aigbe revealed that she has been a victim of domestic violence in her marriage.

Last month, Mercy Aigbe shared photos of her receiving treatment in the United Kingdom for injuries she allegedly sustained from her husband.

"In the UK  to see an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.

"No woman should go through these much pain, anguish, and trauma all in the name of marriage.. #saynotodomesticviolence #onlyweakmenhittheirwives #sharingmyexperience

#pleaseleaveanabusivemarriage #yourlifematters #speakout #conqueror,"  she wrote in the caption of the photos.

Last month, Mercy Aigbe was slammed with a N500 million lawsuit by Opemititi Ajayi, her former friend.

Ajayi is also suing Linda Ikeji for alleging she slept with Lanre Gentry and destroyed the actress's marriage. According to the letter prepared by her attorneys, the 500Million is to 'repair' the damages caused by the defamatory publications and statement.

Mercy Aigbe and Linda Ikeji have just seven days to satisfy this demand.
