Former backup singer aims to raise funds for legendary Reggae act

A former back up singer of his, Monica Omorodion Swaida has started a campaign to raise funds for Fashek whose health has deteriorated because of his long battle with drug addiction.

Someone has decided to do something about the alarming health condition of the legendary Reggae singer Majek Fashek.

A former back up singer of his, Monica Omorodion Swaida has started a campaign to raise funds for Fashek whose health has deteriorated because of his long battle with drug addiction.

"I am doing this for them. They treated me like a kid sister when I needed them. Our fight right now is to raise money so that we can send him to a home that can help him. Apart from his alcoholism, he has spiritual and mental issues to go with it" she told QED.

Swaida is close to not only Majek but his wife and family as well. She is based in Massachusetts, U.S.A. She created a GoFundMe page for the former star. Her aim is to raise twenty thousand dollars. The amount generated so far is five hundred, and fifty-five dollars.
