Little Mix joins PETA2 to call for the release of animals from circuses

Little Mix is teaming up with Peta2 (Peta’s youth division), to ban the use of elephants, tigers and other wild animals in the circus.

Peta debuted a new print ad on Tuesday, August 18, featuring Perrie Edwards and her bandmates posing in a black-and-white photo the reads, ''Shackled, Beaten And Depressed. Get Wild Animals Out Of The Circus!''

In the promo picture, Jade Thirwall and Leigh-Ann Pinnock are seen with a ball and chain strapped to their ankles, while Jesy Nelson sits on a circus pedestal and Edwards stands nearby.

Pinnock is quoted on Peta’s blog as saying, ''We were shocked to learn that wild animals are still suffering in circuses. Animals don’t jump through rings of fire for fun. They do so out of fear, and it’s time to ban this so-called form of entertainment once and for all.''

She continues, ''There’s no reason why animals should still be suffering in circuses, and we hope that by posing for this ad, we’ll be doing our bit to help ban the use of wild animals in circuses.”

The girls also asked their fans to join them in helping to ban animals from being used in the circus. Other celebrities to star in ads for Peta2 include Fifth Harmony, Pink, Noah Cyrus, Sia and Kesha.
